Tom Welling visited Late Night with Jimmy Fallon at the beginning of May to promote the season finale of Smallville.

What Was Tom Doing for Cinco de Mayo?

Welling revealed he was planning to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by having a Cadillac Margarita after the show. When Jimmy asked what this was, Tom explained it was a margarita with a floater of Grand Marnier.

Tom proceeded to say he was born in upstate New York, specifically Putnam Valley. He said while he grew up in Delaware, he did spend some time living in NYC. He actually got his acting start in Manhattan after finishing high school in Michigan. He said he began by doing modeling and commercials. He got his first real gig when Judd Apatow gave him a role in the show Undeclared. He said his single line for this role was “No thanks guys.”

How Does Welling Feel About the End of Smallville?

Jimmy asked Tom if he was bummed about the end of Smallville, and he said yes. He went on to say he can’t believe he’s spent an entire decade working on the show. He also said while he thought Jimmy Fallon’s show had been on for 5 or 6 years, he found out it’s only the second season.

Welling revealed Smallville was shot in Vancover. He said while he was planning to take a few things to remember the show, several people showed up and said nothing could be taken because it was all going to be archived. He then stated he did manage to take a pencil as a reminder of his time on the show.
